🍂 October at House of McNee – Cosy Days, Chocolate, and a Cheeky Puppy

As the leaves start to turn and Crieff settles into that beautiful golden glow, things have been anything but quiet behind the scenes here at House of McNee! Between packaging mountains of sweets, prepping for Christmas, and keeping our new puppy out of mischief, it’s been a full — and fun — month.
🐾 Shogun Settles In
Our newest “team member”, Shogun the Newfoundland puppy, has been finding his paws in the shop (and sleeping through most of it). Rusti has been taking her promotion to Senior Sales Associate very seriously, keeping a watchful eye as Shogun charms every visitor lucky enough to catch him awake.
He’s already mastered the art of sitting beautifully for treats and occasionally remembers that he’s not supposed to chew on empty boxes. It’s fair to say he’s been a hit with customers — even if he sometimes steals the show from the shop!
🍫 Behind the Scenes – Packaging, Prep, and Plenty of Chocolate
My Dad and I have spent much of October working away behind the scenes, getting all our delicious treats ready for the busy season ahead. From bagging tablet and shortbread to hand-packing chocolates, it’s been a real family effort (as always).
There’s something quite special about preparing everything by hand — the same way it’s been done since Mum and Dad first opened the shop. It’s that personal touch we hope people feel when they unwrap a little House of McNee treat.
✨ New on the Shelves – Turkish Delight Full Range
We’re thrilled to finally have our full range of Turkish Delight in stock and on display! Each piece is made in Turkey and hand-packed here in Crieff with love (and a sprinkle of patience when the icing sugar gets everywhere).
With flavours like rose, lemon, pomegranate, and pistachio, they make a beautiful gift — or a well-deserved treat for yourself on a quiet evening with a cup of tea.
🎃 Halloween Fun & Family Time
The month ended with a bit of spooky fun — and far too many sweets were consumed after guising! Between pumpkin carving and ghostly giggles, it was lovely to slow down and enjoy some family time before the Christmas whirlwind begins.
🎁 Looking Ahead to Christmas
Now, as we move into November, the shelves are filling up fast with festive goodies. We’re putting together lots of gift boxes, handmade chocolates, and special treats to make Christmas gifting that little bit easier (and tastier).
